Privacy Policy

The apps

The PausePace apps do not collect, sell or share any personal data. There is no account, no analytics SDK and no advertising. Everything the app learns about your work rhythm — screen time, breaks taken, settings — is stored on your devices.

To time breaks, the Mac app reads signals the system already provides: how long since your last keypress or click (not which keys), which app is in front (only to notice when you switch apps — never its windows or content), whether a camera or microphone is in use (yes or no, never audio or video), and whether something is full screen. These signals never leave your Mac.

If you pair an iPhone, your Mac and iPhone talk directly over your local network, encrypted. Your Apple Watch receives the break status from your iPhone. Nothing passes through our servers.

If you turn on calendar heads-up (Pro), the app reads only when your events start and end and whether you're busy — never titles, notes, places or people.

Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.

This website

We count visits with Plausible Analytics, hosted on our own server. It uses no cookies and stores no personal data: no IP addresses, no device identifiers. We see totals such as page views, referrers and countries.

The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

If you join the beta list, we store your email address, the devices you chose and your preferred language, in a database hosted by Cloudflare. We use them only to email you about the beta and the launch — at most two emails — and delete the list after launch. We don't store your IP address with your sign-up.

Email

If you write to us, we use your message only to answer you. Our mailbox is hosted by Feishu (Lark).

Your rights

You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it, and you can leave the beta list from any email we send. Write to privacy@pausepace.com. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

PausePace is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. If a change affects how the apps handle data, we'll say so in the app's release notes.
